With a face that shouts “Xmas” but a soul that screams “Chanukah”, Rachel has always felt as though she has a foot in two worlds. Coming from a family of immigrants and refugees, who felt British regardless of accents and lifestyle, has enhanced her perception of what it means to be part of a community. She has lived in Essex, Israel and Belarus. She has been a dental nurse, a singer and social worker. Now she performs, writes and directs comedy. Is it any wonder she has no idea where she truly belongs?
A solo standup comedy show from the writer of ‘An Insomniac’s Guide To Ambulances’ about rebellion and the drive to fit in, with a bit about being a pop star.
Winner of the Best Comedy Award at the Greater Manchester Fringe 2017, ‘It’s No Job For A Nice Jewish Girl’ enjoyed a sell-out debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2017, followed in 2018 with a successful UK tour and a triumphant return to the Fringe.
So far, it has been seen by thousands of people of all faiths and none, each finding their own connections to the story.
