היצירה מתי מדבר מציגה מיצב פרפורמטיבי על פני שלושה ימים בו האמנים מתרגלים טקסי קבורה בבוץ. את הפעולות בחלל מבצעות שלוש דמויות: הקובר, הנקבר והפועל, שמחליפים תפקידים בסיום כל מחזור. הטקסים נערכים בסביבה הכוללת עמדת עבודה, עמדת קבורה, עמדת קפה, ומאחז איגלואים מבוץ הנבנים על פי טכניקה צבאית להקמת מחסה. שקי חול שנלקחו מאתר בניה סמוך למרכז נערמים בפינה אחת ומיחם לקפה מבעבע בפינה אחרת. הם מתמירים אלו את אלו במעבר בין מצבי צבירה, כמערכת שאינה מייצרת יותר או פחות, אלא מעבירה ממצב אחד לאחר.

מצלמה תרמית מרחפת כעין ציפור טרף ומשדרת בו־זמנית אל תוך החלל. הדימוי התרמי חושף עקבות חום ורשמי מגע שהאדם מותיר ומוצא בסביבתו. טכנולוגיה שראשיתה במערכות צבאיות לזיהוי אויב, מגויסת כמפת פענוח המארגנת את העבודה.

Desert Dead presents a three-day performative installation in which the artists rehearse burial rituals in mud. Three figures operate within the space: the burier, the buried, and the worker, rotating roles at the end of each cycle. The rituals unfold in an environment that includes a work station, a burial station, a coffee station, and a cluster of mud igloos built according to a military technique for constructing shelters. Sandbags taken from a nearby construction site are piled in one corner, while a coffee urn bubbles in another. They transform into each other in a passage between states of matter, functioning as a system that generates neither more nor less, but only shifts from one condition to another

A thermal camera hovers like a bird of prey, transmitting simultaneously into the space. The thermal image reveals traces of heat and imprints of touch that humans leave and encounter in their surroundings. A technology whose origins lie in military enemy-detection systems is repurposed here as a map that gives the work its organizing principles
