בפרק השני של העונה השניה של סדרת סינמאי, זרחי תציג את יצירתו The Second Copy 2045 של האמן יונס אטנבה, שלאחריה תתקיים שיחת סקייפ עם היוצר. יונס אטבנה (1982, מרוקו, חי ועובד בין קזבלנקה לברלין) בוגר התוכנית לכוראוגרפיה ex.e.r.ce במונפלייה צרפת ובעל תואר שני באמנות, ספרות ומוזיאולוגיה מאוניברסיטת ניס בצרפת. עבודתו של אטנבה היא תוצאה של ריבוי הפרקטיקות בהן הוא מתעסק והיכולת שלו לנוע מדיסיפלינה אמנותית אחת לאחרת, ממחול עכשווי לאמנות פלסטית, מצילום ומיצב לפרפורמנס. אופיו המחקרי של עבודתו המחבר בין אספקטים פרפורמטיביים לנרטיביים, יכול להיתפס כפורמלי ודיסקורסיבי באותו הזמן. כאנליסט חריף של השדה אמנותי, האלמנטים המרכיבים אותו והדינמיקות השונות בין שחקניו, אטנבה מגדיר מחדש את הסטטוס ההיסטורי של האמן/ית, ואת תפקידו/ה בשדה התרבות.
על העבודה The Second Copy 2045
המופע The Second Copy 2045 חוקר את הגבול הדק בין הבדיוני לדוקומנטרי, כמו גם את הפוטנציאל והכוח החבוי בנרטיב. בהופעה-הרצאה הזו, האמן אשר מתפקד הן בתור נושא העבודה והן בתור כותב הנרטיב, מבקש לשאול שאלות בנוגע ליצוגים האפשריים של ההיסטוריה ולא.נשים האחראים על כתיבתה. לא רק שהסימון בין הבדיוני לדוקומנטרי נמחק בעבודה זו, אלא הוא גם נשזר בתוך יצירה של נרטיב משולב בין הבדיוני לעובדתי, באופן המזמין לשאול בין השאר על הפוטנציאל החבוי בשימוש בכל נרטיב שהוא, רעיונות המנוסחים בתאוריות של הפילוסוף הצרפתי פול ריקר.
על סינמאי
סינמאי היא סדרה של הקרנות וידאו באוצרותה של הכוראוגרפית מאי זרחי (1984, תל אביב. חיה ועובדת בתל אביב ובפרנקפורט). אחת לחודש, זרחי תפגיש אותנו עם יצירות בימתיות בטווח בין מחול לפרפורמנס, שלא נראו בישראל עד לזמן ההקרנה בשל סיבות שונות: יצירות שעולות יותר על במות, שאינן יכולות להגיע לישראל, שנוצרו על ידי אמנים ואמניות שמסרבים להגיע להופיע בארץ ועוד. כל מפגש יכלול תיעוד באורך מלא של יצירה נבחרת, ואחריו שיחת סקייפ בלייב עם יוצריה. העונה הראשונה של סינמאי נתמכה והוצגה במרכז כלים לכוראוגרפיה בבת ים ב-2017 ובה התארחו הכוראוגרפים/יות אסתר סלמון, הרכב טאלדנס (מוסטפה קפלן ופיליז סיזאנלי), מרטין שיק, פנאיברה גבריאל קנדה ומריה קמפוס ארויו. העונה השניה של סינמאי תוצג במרכז לאמנות עכשווית תל אביב. מידע על האמנים/יות והעבודות שיוצגו יפורסם בכל פעם לקראת האירוע החד חודשי.

CINEMAY – Season II, Episode II: The Second Copy 2045 by Youness Atbane

In the second episode of CINEMAY’s second season, May Zarhy will present Youness Atbane’s work The Second Copy 2045, which will be followed by a video conference with the author. Youness Atbane (1982, Morocco, lives and works in Casablanca and Berlin) studied in ex.e.r.ce program at the CCN in Montpellier, France, and obtained his master in art, literature and museology from the University of Nice, France. Youness Atbane’s work is the result of a plurality of practices, it is based on his ability to move from one discipline to another, from contemporary dance to visual art, from photography and installation to performance. The exploratory nature of his work – which brings together performative and narrative aspects – can be perceived as discursive and formal at the same time. As a sharp analyst of the artistic field, its components, and the dynamics between different cultural players, Atbane redefines the historical status of the artist and his role in the cultural field.
About The Second Copy 2045 (YEAR)
The Second Copy 2045 explores the thin border between fiction and documentary, as well as the prospective potential of narrative. During this conference-performance, the gesture of the artist, who is both the subject matter and the author of the narrative, aims at asking questions related to possible representations of history, involving the people who are in charge of writing history. In this project the line between fiction and documentary is not only erased but also intertwined through the creation of fictional and factual narratives – an invitation to question, among other things, the use of prospective narratives, which is informed by the theories of the French philosopher Paul Ricœur.
About CINEMAY
CINEMAY is a screening curated by choreographer May Zarhy (*1984, Tel Aviv. Lives and works in Tel Aviv and Frankfurt). Once a month, Zarhy presents stage works that haven’t been performed in Israel, either because the pieces are no longer presented, cannot be toured, or were made by artists who refuse to come to Israel. The program presents full-length documentation of these selected dance and performance pieces followed by a video conference with their respective author. The first season of CINEMAY was presented at Kelim Choreographic Center in Bat Yam, Israel, in 2017, and featured works by Eszter Salamon, Taldans (Mustafa Kaplan and Filiz Sızanlı), Martin Schick, Panaibra Gabriel Canda, and Maria Campos Arroyo. The second season of CINEMAY will be presented at the CCA Tel Aviv. Information about the artists and works presented during the program will be published once a month for each event.
