דברים שעשיתי מעבר לים היא סדרה חדשה במרכז לאמנות עכשווית מציגה יצירות שנעשו על ידי אמנים ישראלים מחוץ לישראל — עבודות משמעותיות שאינן מוכרות לקהל המקומי.

הילה בן ארי תציג את העבודה I Must Be Circumstanced שיצרה עבור להקת המחול הניו־יורקית Limón Dance Company, שנולדה מתוך הזמנת הלהקה ליצור דיאלוג חדש עם יצירתו של חוזה למון. בן ארי, אמנית מיצב ווידיאו, היא האמנית הפלסטית הראשונה שיצרה עבור הלהקה.

במפגש היא תדבר על המעבר ממיצב וידיאו לעבודת במה, תשתף בתהליך העבודה עם הלהקה, ותראה את תיעוד בכורת המופע שהתקיימה בניו יורק.

أشياء قمتُ بها ما وراء البحار هي سلسلة جديدة في المركز للفنون المعاصرة، تُعرَض فيها أعمال أُنجزت على يد فنّانين إسرائيليين خارج إسرائيل — أعمال مهمة لكنها غير معروفة للجمهور المحلي.

ستعرض هيلا بن أري عملها I Must Be Circumstanced الذي ابتكرته لفرقة الرقص النيويوركية Limón Dance Company، والذي جاء نتيجة دعوة من الفرقة لابتكار حوار جديد مع أعمال خوسيه ليمون. تُعدّ بن أري، فنانة تركيب وفيديو، أول فنانة تشكيلية تخلق عملًا للفرقة.

خلال اللقاء ستتحدث عن الانتقال من مَعرض فيديو إلى عمل مسرحي، وستشارك في سرد عملية تطوير العمل مع الفرقة، كما ستعرض توثيق العرض الأول الذي أُقيم في نيويورك.

Things I Did Overseas is new series at the Center for Contemporary Art where Israeli artists present projects they realized overseas — significant works that are unknown to the local audience.

Hilla Ben Ari will introduce I Must Be Circumstanced, a work she created for the New York based Limón Dance Company, which was conceived from the invitation to create a new dialogue with the oeuvre of José Limón. Ben Ari, a video and installation artist, was the first visual artist to create for the company.

During the presentation she will share the process of working with the dance company, talk about the challenges and breakthroughs in bringing her artistic language to the stage, and show the video documentation of the work’s premiere that took place in New York in winter 2023.
