"סדר עולמי חדש" היא סדרת מופעים של האמן עוז מלול. כל מופע מקבל תצורה של "משדר חדשות", ומשלב בתוכו כתבות מוקלטות מראש עם שידור חי מהאולפן. את האירוע מתפעל האמן בזמן אמת, כשהוא נכנס לתפקידי המנחה, כתב השטח, המפיק, העורך והצלם. המהלך הרב־שכבתי הזה מייצר מופע כאוטי שקורא תיגר על המבנה והסמכות של מדיום החדשות.

באירוע זה, שכותרתו סדר עולמי חדש: אפריקן רוטס, מציג מלול שמונה פרקים, שכל אחד מהם מלווה בשיר ומתייחס לאירוע פוליטי או אישי. לדבריו, כל אחד מהשירים "מציג צורה שונה בה משתקפת התרבות הישראלית בזמן מלחמה".

“New World Order” is a performance series by artist Oz Malul. Each performance takes the form of a ‘news broadcast,’ combining pre-recorded reports with a live feed from a studio. The entire production is carried out by the artist in real-time, as he ‘takes on’ the roles of anchor, field reporter, producer, editor, and cameraman. This multi-layered setup creates a chaotic show and challenges the structure and authority in the context of news media.

In this session, titled New World Order: African Roots, Malul presents eight chapters, each accompanied by a song and referencing either a political or a personal event. The songs, in his words, “becomes a reflection on the state of Israeli culture in times of war.”
