מוזמנים לשיחה עם האמנית נרדין סרוג׳י והאוצרת הילה כהן־שניידרמן במסגרת התערוכה ״ברוש לבדו״.

תערוכתה של סרוג׳י צומחת מתוך התבוננות במבנה המרכז לאמנות עכשווית וסביבתו. דרך המפגש בין אדריכלות, רקמה וזיכרון חומרי, סרוג׳י עוקבת אחר שכבות של היסטוריה, נוכחות והיעדר הטבועות במרחב – במבנים, בצמחייה, בדגמים ובסימנים שנותרו בו.

התערוכה מוצגת בתמיכת מענק ריבקינד בן צור לאמנות, חינוך וקהילה, במסגרתו קבוצה של אמנים צעירים - מתמחים, יצרו יחד עם סרוג׳י את עבודות הרקמה המוצגות בתערוכה.

You are invited to join us for a gallery talk in the exhibition “Nardeen Srouji: A Sole Cypress” with the artist and curator Hila Cohen-Schneiderman.

Srouji’s exhibition emerges from an attentive observation of the site in which it is presented: the building of the Center for Contemporary Art and its surroundings. Through the intersection of architecture, embroidery, and material memory, Srouji traces layers of history, presence, and absence embedded within the space – in its structures, vegetation, patterns, and the marks that remain.

The exhibition is made possible through the The Rywkind Ben Zour Grant for Art, Education and Community. Through this grant a group of young artist-interns worked together with Srouji to create the embroidered pieces featured in the exhibition.
